  Shih Chien University has roots that go back to the founding of Shih Chien College of Home Economics in 1958. The University is made up of 2 campuses and 5 colleges, with approximately 16,000 students and 780 faculty and staff. It is a learning community with friendly atmosphere and artistic environment. Shih Chien University has five colleges in two campuses. We located in the district which near Shilin night market,National Palace Museum and Miramar Entertainment Park, the university is benefited by the convenience of the MRT system and city buses. In this three-week summer camp, you can feel the true Asia. Mandarin course, Culture Experience, Day Tour and Weekend Travels, this camp has everything you hope for during a summer camp. Embrace the vivid culture and learn Mandarin Chinese along with friendly volunteers! Make this summer an unforgettable one.

Come to Taiwan and learn Mandarin Chinese! Mandarin Chinese is the official language of Taiwan. The most effective way to learn Mandarin is to study traditional Chinese characters in the modern, Mandarin speaking society of Taiwan.This Mandarin and Culture Exploring Camp provide an excellent environment and complete chance to learn this ancient and beautiful language.

Aside from the beautiful language, you must also learn the ancient culture behind all those beautiful characters. The National Palace Museum has a great collection of artifacts spanning the history of Chinese civilization. Taiwanese Opera and Glove Puppetry, and aboriginal culture, add to the cultural richness of Taiwan. Nowhere will international students find a better place to experience and learn about Chinese culture.In Culture Class, our teacher will teach you the beauty behind every Chinese custom. Such as Red Envelope, a bless for children from the parents during new year. Or Paper Cutting, recognized and listed because it has a history of more than 1500 years and it represents cultural values of the people.

Before taking the class, there is a placement test for every student to see your level of fluency of Chinese. There are three levels: Basic/Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Anyone can enjoy the fun of learning new language even if you’re a first-time learner. During the class students can learn how to composite, meaning and the origin of Chinese characters, as well as practicing basic daily conversation. Plus, with our volunteers, you can pick-up this new language in no time.

1. We provide basic pillow, mattress and quilt , there are also washing and drying machines in the dormitory.
