The UABC is a public State University founded in 1957 and is focused on teaching, research, outreach and extension services. Currently UABC offers 74 bachelor´s educative programs and 43 posgraduate educative programs, all recognized by National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT). Has an enrollment of 63,642 bachelor´s students and 1,681 posgraduate students. The UABC has 1,293 full time faculty members of which 892 are accredited by the Development Professional Teaching Program (PRODEP), and 351 researchers belong to National System of Researchers (SNI-CONACYT). These latest work the areas of Agricultural sciences, Engineering and technology sciences, Natural and exact sciences, Health sciences, Economic and administrative sciences, Social sciences, and Education, humanities and behavioral sciences. In 2016 the UABC occupies the position number 122nd. In the Latin American University QS Ranking and the 7th. place among the State public universities in México. Finally, the academic and administrative activities carry to out in three campuses located in Ensenada, Mexicali and Tijuana, all in the State of Baja California.
