Brock University is a public research institution located in St. Catharines, ON. It is the only university in Canada that is located in a UNESCO Biosphere reserve, located at the centre of Canada’s Niagara peninsula on the Niagara escarpment. The University bears the name of Major General Sir Isaac Brock, who was responsible for defending Upper Canada against the United States during the War of 1812.

All academic courses are taught in English, with the exception of some foreign language classes. ·Medical Insurance
All students are required to purchase the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) through Brock. The 2018-19 fees are $208 for 4-months of coverage and the plan covers basic medical care and emergency medical services. For an additional fee, students are also able to opt into a secondary health insurance plan which would cover prescriptions and dental.
·Visa Process
Students studying at Brock for more than 6-months must obtain a study permit. Those studying for less than 6-months are not required to obtain a study permit, though they can still apply for one if they wish. In addition to a study permit, citizens of certain countries may also require a temporary resident visa (TRV).
