Chiba University (Program I- Field Study to Japan: Its Politics and Economy)
Chiba JAPANChiba University is a comprehensive university founded in 1949. It hosts approximately 14,200 undergraduate and graduate students and is ranked high both in terms of size and quality among national universities in Japan. There are currently 10 undergraduate schools and 11 graduate schools at Chiba University.

To achieve this goal the university has been actively enhancing its liberal arts program and has been promoting the internationalization of its curriculum.

"Field Study to Japan:Its Politics and Economy"
Purpose:
International politics and international economics are the overarching purpose of this course.
This program aims to consider Japan’s political and economic situation in critical juncture from a domestic to a global perspective through lectures and site visits.
Day-to-day news in the field of international politics and economics surrounding Japan can be deeply understood with theoretical insights. In this course, therefore, attempts will be made to link up political and economic incidents (including the geopolitics and geo-economics in Asia where Japan is located) with theoretical investigations in an active-learning style.

Lecture on Japan’s political and economic situation from a domestic perspective (including aging, depopulation and constitutional amendment)
Lecture on Japan’s political and economic situation from a global perspective
Visit Japan’s Houses of Parliament in Tokyo
Lecture on political economy of US-Japan relationship: Trans Pacific Partnership and Japan’s bilateral linkage with the US
Lecture on Geoeconomics of the Asia Pacific region
Visit Japan’s retail industry and local market
Experience Japanese culture
Wrap-up on Japan’s politics and Economy

Every participant must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in an institution of higher education that has concluded an inter university agreement with Chiba University or has a possibility of concluding an agreement in the near future.

Each course generally consists of 30 academic hours of classes and 2 credit will be awarded.
