Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) also known as The National University of Malaysia was established on May 18, 1970 and has a strong history rooted in Malay nationalism. UKM has adopted a more pragmatic stance now of accommodating the English Language to acquire a competitive edge globally whilst still remaining rooted in our local language and cultures. The University has 13 faculties and 13 research institutes offering a wide variety of academic programmes both in arts and sciences. UKM was ranked 184 in 2018 QS World University Rankings. UKM has also ranked 43 in Asian University Ranking and 12 in Top 50 under 50 years old university.

·Medical Insurance
Incoming exchange students are compulsory to purchase a health medical insurance plan in their home country and they are advised to bring proof of coverage when they come to UKM. The insurance must be able to cover the medical expenses of student while studying in Malaysia. Alternatively, students may purchase the related insurance in Malaysia upon their arrival.
·Visa Process
Visa Approval Letter (VAL) application is compulsory for all exchange students before their arrival to Malaysia.
