Prince of Songkla University (PSU) is a comprehensive public university established in 1967 as the first university in southern Thailand. As a leading research university committed to academic excellence, reputable research and innovation, with 5 campuses in Hat Yai, Pattani, Phuket, Surat Thani and Trang, it is one of the nine national research universities and the fiftth-ranked Thai university by QS. PSU houses over 40,000 students (international students from almost 50 nations), 39 faculties, colleges and institutes offering more than 150 Bachelor’s, 100 Master’s, and 70 Doctorate degrees. The academic excellence is illustrated in disciplines such as Agro-Industry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Energy, Epidemiology, Islamic Studies, Natural Rubber, Palm Oil, and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

PSU comprises 4 hospitals and over 40 excellence and research centers, all committed to academic excellence, strong social responsibility, and active engagement in community services. Research areas concentrate on Science & Technology (Resources, Environment, Industry, Engineering), Health & Medical Research, and Socioeconomic Development. PSU has MOU with over 350 universities in 43 countries including International Agencies: FAO, WHO, UNDP, UNEP, UNESCO, SEAMEO, IRRI, SEARCA, BIOTROP, IUCN, SEAFDEC, ICLARM, NACA, EU, HANBAN, WI, ACIAR, ASS, IDRC, USAID, JSPS, JICA, DANCED, GRET, GTZ.
