| Mapua University is a private non-sectarian institution of higher learning founded in January 1925 by Don Tomas Mapua, architecture graduate of Cornell University in USA and the first registered Filipino Architect. The University is considered the premiere engineering school in the philippines. From 2010 to 2011, Mapúa has proven itself at par with other first-rate universities around the world when ABET, Inc. granted its first accreditation seal in the entire East Asia to its eight Engineering programs (ChE, CE, CpE, EE, ECE, EnSE, IE, and ME) and two computing programs (B.S. Computer Science and B.S. Information Technology), putting it ahead of the rest of educational institutions in the country. The University was also granted center of development for 9 of its programs by Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Recently, the institute has been granted the ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management System). The University also has strong ties in the international arena by having Exchange Programs, Summer Programs and Research Collaborations with universities in Malaysia, Taiwan, South Korea, Sweden, Spain and USA. In addition to this, the University also has other international programs such as OJT (internship) and Plant Visits with industry partners in Japan, Malaysia, USA, Spain, Singapore, and Thailand.
